Gyokuro Imperial from Teavana. This is the tea i drink every day. This morning I prepared it in a clay pot; even the strainer is made of clay. The clay will become seasoned if you use one tea always (which i do) and this brings out some really interesting flavours. The cast iron method is great also. Gyokuro has a very natural, earthy flavour with a natural sweetness to it.
I steeped it at just over 100˚F in a clay pot for about 3 minutes.
I feel this brewing method brings out more of that natural sweetness, very rarely I will sweeten the Gyokuro with just a little bit of white honey.
Fun fact: The Gyokuro Imperial was once reserved for the Imperial Family of Japan. Hence the name.
